Grand Opening!

Welcome, all of you, to my most fabulous blog! I've moved from the Live Spaces network over here to Blogger. I'm kind of expecting some other people to read this who didn't read it before, so I'll have to do a bit of introducing. Please bear with me.

The little guy you see above is called Exclamation Mark and yes, he is an actual mark of punctuation. I've got him going on as the 'Woa!' logo for when there is something momentous going on. Also the kind-of gross looking thing in the welcome banner is called Welcome Vomit. A similar vomit welcomed me to Sydney one time.

And the YouTubers thought I only had Random Chicken going on didn't you!? Well you just got told. Almost all of the characters I use have been used before in my other blog in an irregular webcomic that I did called Is it a Webcomic? I still rather like them, so you'll be seeing others as icons in the coming posts too.

This blog will be not too much different from the previous incarnation of The Fillet Skillet, but it will include a bit more stuff on YouTube than it has in the past. It seems like I was funneling most of my creative energies into there anyway, leaving my first love to wither an die. Still, here you will find musings, ramblings et cetera et cetera. Fairly standard blog fare, but I hope I'm a bit more entertaining than most.

Won't keep you! Bye!

Still not the grand opening, but this blog is like the "let's fill up the archives a little bit before we announce the existence of the blog blog". You see, that way when people go to look at the new Fillet Skillet they'll be all:

"Oh wow look at the posts Robo already has"

and then they'll read them all at once and have a bit of an OD, but then I'll have them by the balls and they'll all be coming back for more and more.

And more and more AND MORE!

But anyway, onto the topic at hand. Subscribers. A lot of the time they annoy the hell out of me, but hey, you can't 'tube without 'em. Well actually that wasn't fair. The ones who leave the annoying comments are usually people who don't subscribe. But I digress.

The point I'm trying to make is that YouTubers are obsessed with them. I'm no exception. It's like the YouTube currency. I'll make a video collaboration with you on the understanding that we'll both get subscribers for it - audience swapping. Have you got the goods? You're not seeing the subscribers until you show me the goods you hear me? et cetera et cetera. You are either a failure or a success depending on if you have more than X number of subscribers.

Why am I rambling about this, you ask. And more importantly, where are the pictures? Well just give me a sec and I'll get right on it don't you worry.

My 'one year anniversary' on YouTube is coming up. Now, technically, you would think that it would be fairly easy to get one subscriber a day for every day you've been on YouTube. In my case that would make it 366 subs by the 4th of April (remember we have a 29th of February this year). That's now my goal, but I'd better hop to it if I want to get there, because I'm actually behind. If I were to be on track today, it would mean that I should have 301 people subscribed to my videos. I've 'only' got 273.

And I don't know why I'm a 'hypnotist' or even why a hypnotist would be classed as a comedian at all. Except for that guy who makes people do stupid stuff in public places. You know, people laugh but man that guy is such an... um... bumhole.

Now, if I never got another subscriber I know that my YouTube experience wouldn't actually change. I've made lots of friends already. But I don't care what anyone says; I know that when it comes down to it if you never got another subscriber ever again you'd feel pretty bad about it. You'd wonder if you were doing something wrong or something. So yeah I wanna see if I can do this thing.

366 by the 4th of April. Let's go.

Welcome, One and All

Good hello to all of you. The blog as you see it (assuming you're not reading the archives right now) hasn't officially opened yet. I'm still getting it to look all professional.

Having said that, if you stumble across this post and think the site needs improvement, feel free to design a new banner or suggest a change in the way the colours work. My only stipulation is that the banner must contain the words "The Fillet Skillet" and the underslogan "Out of the frying pan into the fire". Additionally, I'd prefer it if you worked into the design my Random Chicken mascot and a frying pan. Oh yeah, and it should 'fit in' with my YouTube page colour-wise. Usually that's dark red.

Now, I know the banner is probably going to change at some point or other, so for the benefits of looking back to this blog's history, the banner currently looks like this:

I threw it together in Photoshop, so it's not brilliant or anything, but it's serviceable. I wouldn't be afraid of people seeing it on my blog or whatever.

So yeah. There will be a real "Grand Opening" post coming soon, but if you happen to find this blog before then, please know that I actually had another blog before now. It was also called The Fillet Skillet and it was also of me writing. I just got sick of the Live Spaces engine you know? It was slow and it restricted who could post comments - limiting feedback. So I moved here, and aren't you glad you can read this and comment if you want?

Yeah. Commenting is great. I love to comment.
